Job Title: Consultant Interventional Cardiologist
Description: Due to upcoming retirement we are seeking applications for a new colleague to join us as a consultant cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in intervention. The start date is highly flexible and we would welcome interest from those due to complete fellowships or training next year, as well as those already looking for a post. We are a busy non-surgical centre, providing a wide range of cardiology services. In addition to our coronary work, and established services in heart failure and imaging, we offer complex EP, are one of the highest volume centres in the UK for device therapy, and are the regional reference centre for clinical genetics with a large ICC service. Our coronary labs are modern and well-equipped, with access to integrated IVUS and OCT, rotational atherectomy, IVL, Impella, and we have a long-established programme for percutaneous treatment of pulmonary embolism. The prospective consultant would contribute on an equal basis to our general cardiology inpatient service, and outpatient clinics including supporting the expanding nurse-led chest pain service, as well as joining the primary PCI rota (currently 1:8 with plans to dilute this further). Recruiting the right person, happy working and living in this beautiful part of the UK, is key and we would be very keen to discuss the post, and life in Devon, with prospective applicants. Please note the short application window, which is due to recruitment panel availability and the timing of funding only.
