Would you like to be one of our BCS sub-editors for a year?

Would you like to improve your writing skills, learn about different cardiology topics and have the opportunity to win a prize at the BCS annual conference?

Then the BCS sub-editor role could be for you!
You will commit to writing at least two editorials in your editorial year on topics that interest you, for publication on the BCS website. The top 3 editorials submitted will be presented as an oral presentation at BCS 2025, with the opportunity to win a prize.

The sub-editor roles are available to cardiology specialist trainees. To apply, please submit your UK cardiology NTN and BCS member numbers, with a brief abstract of 100 words on your chosen topic, to BCS Editorials Editor, Dr Akriti Naraen – akriti.naraen@doctors.org.uk by 11.59pm on Friday 26 July.

BCS National Training Day – 13th September 2024, The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), London

Covering topics from the current cardiology curriculum, the sessions in the National Training Day are carefully tailored to address potential gaps in the training programme, or provide additional detail on areas trainees have identified as being of concern. The Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, UCL – SpR Case Study MDT Grand Rounds Meeting

Please mark Friday, 4th October in your diary to attend this interactive and engaging cross-speciality meeting at The Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, University College London.
Submissions of clinical cases relating Cardiology, Nephrology, and Diabetes are welcome. The format for this meeting will see Registrar’s presenting cases and discussing with their peers in the other related specialties their opinion on next steps and treatment direction.  The aim is to create an interactive and engaging session while disseminating the important MDT aspects.

Trainees are encouraged to attend in-person however online attendance is also possible for those unable to travel to London.  A networking lunch will be provided and all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for this meeting.

Barts Hybrid Training Day: 3rd July 2024

Barts delighted to invite you to its first Hybrid Training Day for Atrial Fibrillation on the 3rd of July 2024 at St Paul’s Cathedral.  This is going to be an exciting symposium with interactive debates.
